'Cause everyone has a story to tell'

As you read about twenty-two year old, inexperienced Kisha, watch how she falls hard for the first man who’s shown interest since her daughter’s father left her to raise their child alone. Head over heels in love, Kisha accepts anything that Kevin brings to the relationship. She’s about to experience first hand that those three magic words are not enough to keep a relationship functioning.

Thirty-two year old Kevin falls just as hard for Kisha. In a perfect world, he would make her his wife. But his family comes first. No one or no thing can convince him that a relationship will only survive if both parties participate. Deception is not in his heart but it makes its way to his relationship. Watch as his selfish ways forces him to make a decision that never should have been an option.

Secrets, lies and deception is the name of the game. His Baggage Her Load takes you on a relationship journey like no other.  Just when you think you know what’s going to happen next, another secret is revealed. Filled with plenty of drama and action, this story will make you think twice before falling in love again.

Kevin

I could smell the aroma of her bubble bath as I stepped into the apartment. I checked the bathroom but she wasn’t there. I walked into the bedroom and saw her standing in front of the dresser pinning up her hair. I walked in and hugged her from behind as I threw my keys on the dresser. I tried to kiss her neck but she moved to the side.

“What’s up baby?”  I asked as I sat on the bed. “Why you acting all funny?”

She turned and faced me. “I heard something funny today. It was so funny I cried all day long.”

I frowned and tried to figure out what was going on.

“Do you want to hear the funny shit I heard Kevin?”

“Kisha, what’s up?”

She positioned herself on the bed next to me. “Toni came by this morning and it was her who told me the funny shit. She told me that you’re married.”

I shook my head and closed my eyes.

“Ain’t that funny Kevin?”

“Kisha, before you start tripping, let me explain!”

Kisha began laughing hysterically. “See why I’m acting funny? Sabrina told Toni that your daughter wishes you and her mother would get a divorce because all y’all do is argue.” She kept laughing while she talked. I watched her laughter turn into tears.

“Kevin?” She asked between tears and laughter.

“You know what’s even funnier than this?” I kept my head low. I didn’t mean for her to find out like this.

“It’s funny that you said you love me but you would keep something like this from me.” She continued to laugh and cry.

“Now that’s the part that I can’t figure out.”

“Kisha stop!” I reached for her hands and tried to pull her to me. She snapped her hands back out of my reach.

“Don’t you fucking touch me you two-timing liar. It all makes sense to me now-all the excuses that you’ve been throwing at me since day one. How could you come over here acting like it was all about me when you were just sneaking away from her?”

I closed my eyes. I thought this was a dream. The thought never crossed my mind that my daughter’s teacher would say anything. I felt fucked-up. I really didn’t mean for Kisha to find out this way.

“Kisha, let’s talk about this baby. I need to explain what’s going on.”

Kisha laughed again. “Oh now you wanna explain shit? Anybody ever told you something funny?”

“Kisha?”

“You know how you don’t get the joke at first but after everyone around you starts laughing, you kinda realize that the joke is on you?”

I shook my head. “Kisha this ain’t no game. Just let me explain. It’s not what you think.” She went to the dresser and grabbed the set of keys that she gave me.

“Now you care about what I think? You didn’t care about my thoughts until you got caught. The joke is over! I get it Kev! You used me to get away from Stacy temporarily. Now I need you to get away from me!”

She went out to the living room. I sat on the bed for a few more minutes before I finally came out.

“Kisha, I know you are pissed off. You have every right to be but don’t do it like this. We really need to talk about this. You know that I love you.”

Kisha opened her front door. “Love? If this is an indication of the love you have for me then I wouldn’t want to ever piss you off. There’s no telling how you’d show me hate.”

I walked towards the open door. I looked into Kisha’s eyes and saw the hurt. I felt helpless! I wanted to stop her from hurting. I realized that there was nothing I could do to make her want to hear anything that I had to say. I walked out the door.

“I’m sorry, baby. The last thing I ever wanted to do is hurt you.” I left her apartment and sat in my car. I knew I loved Kisha but I didn’t realize how much until I saw the hurt I caused her. I refuse to lose her over this. I’ll give her a little time to cool off, and then I’ll explain everything to her.
